More Drawings
I went back to drawing three more times last year; here are some selected drawings. When Denu starts up again in a few weeks (it hasn't been announced quite when), I hope to be able to go local and attend the UQO workshops at least some of the time.

I still have trouble throwing a whole person down on paper in the short poses. The effect can be kind of nice sometimes, though.

The proportions are a little weird, but I like a lot about this one. It reminds me a bit of how I drew in high school. I don't know if I still have some of those drawings, and maybe my memory is unreliable, but I remember being very line-oriented and not laying down much black.

This one even more so on the line orientation; this is from the next session. When I get up there in front of people, it's nice to know yoga-ish poses are accepted in the culture of this group: I can do stuff I know.

This model had a flair for the dramatic — maybe another one of his hobbies is mime or drama (it's not his day job; I asked).

The fuzziness of men gets me drawing differently.

Into the last workshop of the year; this was a fun little study. This model's short hair was surprisingly hard for me to draw to my liking.

I like the curves and tension in this pose and drawing.

This one reminds me a bit of one of the long poses from my first evening, but it came out very differently.

I was mostly working small in this session, which for me favours pulling out the pencils rather than the charcoal. I like how my pencil shading turned out here.

This is the same pose as the last one, done in the remnants of the alotted time. I'm learning to stop when a sketch is done and not be afraid to do something quick at either end of a pose, rather than mulishly trying to do exactly one drawing in the set time.
