- Got off the continent.
- Got into a serious-ish relationship.
- Got out of a serious-ish relationship.
- Became a grad student (sort of).
- Became a co-author.
- 2. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
- No resolutions at a particular point in the year... just continuously as I screw up and discover new people and things to value.
- 3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
- Not particularly close.
- 4. Did anyone close to you die?
- My aunt Kathy.
- 5. What countries did you visit?
- Canada, Blue U.S., Red U.S., U.K.
- 6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
- Driver's license, postitive accounting net worth.
- 7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
- Feb. 10:
- Tea and nervous beginnings.
- May 15-17:
- Toronto!
- July 10-18:
- London!
- Aug. 7:
- Frumpy?!?!?!?!
- Sept. 28:
- Dumplings and civilized-seeming endings.
- Oct. 9:
- Dave's wedding in the midst of an insane bus trip.
- November 10:
- Best breakfast of the year -- waffles ;)
- 8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
- Finishing the B.A.
- 9. What was your biggest failure?
- Yoking and choking.
- 10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
- Popped my shoulder out in a ski-cafeteria incident (managed not to hurt myself on the slopes, but those insane boots on a slippery floor...)
- 11. What was the best thing someone bought you?
- The knife-sharpener of indisputable authority, from my cousin Erica.
- 12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
- Dr. Dudek and Sylvain both kicked ass.
- 13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
- Crazy fundamentalists of all stripes.
- 14. Where did most of your money go?
- Food, rent, tuition!
- 15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
- Toronto.
- Relationships.
- A prototype.
- The idea (too late) of dressing all Indonesian (i.e. in a skirt) at my friend Dave's über-conservative wedding.
- 16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
- Propellerheads' "Take California"
- 17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
- a) happier or sadder?:
- Happier, I think!
- b) thinner or fatter?
- Marginally heavier, but probably the same fat content.
- c) richer or poorer?
- about the same.
- 18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
- Bicycling, looking before leaping, art.
- 19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
- Procrastinating, being conciliatory.
- 20. How did you spend Christmas?
- With ten family members and lots of food back at the parents' place.

- Whee!

- None (whee!)

- Haven't got an opinion.
- 24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
- I can't decide... maybe.

- A Sunday at the Pool in Kigali, by Gil Courtemanche

- The Cure

- A nifty little digital camera

- A driver's license

- Had sushi, drank and talked and ate carrot cake and brownies, and rolled around the office in those nifty chairs.
- 31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
- If I knew I'd do it before 2004 is up!
- 32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
- Sleeker (marginally) than before, but still scruffy... with some little formal touches in the mess.
- 33. What kept you sane?
- Rationality, honour, a few good people.
- 34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
- Alyson Hannigan continues to be pretty hawt :P
- 35. What political issue stirred you the most?
- Blatant corruption, as in Canada Lands Corporation and Halliburton.
