Nov. 15th, 2004 01:03 pmThis weekend has been mostly marking and kicking back. The Great Preliminary Mini-Assignment Audit is past, it is encouraging to see half of the class gung-ho and producing stuff, but I can see the half that isn’t really up to speed yet flooding my inbox late at night on the 22nd...
Research and programming has been trampled under everything else of late... I think I assumed life would be normal and boring when I projected my availability in August. What was I thinking? This week will involve much catch-up, if the bug my roommate has caught doesn’t mark me as its next prey. From here on in, though, I’m done my lecturing... last lab tomorrow morning.
On the kicking back front, lots of random online puttering, plus
loupdebois’ birthday open house... I was way below my best, I hope I didn’t contribute to the stain-remover usage cited in the post-potluck post. Nonetheless, the people, food and drink were really nice, it’s just they were a bit of a blur from where I was sitting.
Sunday was breakfast, marking, park/underpass exploration and not-freaking-the-cat-out (amazingly, she usually takes longer to get used to people) over hot chocolate with
rottenfruit... and more marking/answering questions/online procrastination after that.
This morning, prepared lesson material instead of attending lecture and teaching off the cuff, now off to work with me!
