metawidget: Co-sleeping kid taking up as much space as possible between co-awake parents. (co-sleep)

Co-sleeping makes a lot of sense for everyone's sense of security, for ease of night-time feeding and changing, and all that, but there is sometimes the issue in the icon over there (LJ users: over here).

Thanks to Hyperbole and a Half for including that panel in Allie's lastest story, and for the cheerfully generous permissions Allie posts her stuff under.

I wish to complain about the fact that this is a baby post with no woodgie.

We demand regular woodgie!

lol, yes, the perpendicular pose. Sometimes it means one of us adults heads to the couch.

Haha, when I saw that, I thought it felt extremely apt and familiar as well. This is why beside our bed we keep a big floor pillow with sheets on it so one of us can be on the floor if the babe is being too much of a bed-hog. Although sometimes it ends up with the kiddo in the Queen bed and us squashed up on a floor pillow, heh.

I feel for ya... I have a king sized bed, and Kaia still sleeps with me a couple of nights a week, as per our schedule. I regularly find myself being kicked in the back, as she has taken up the rest of the bed by lying sideways. :-D

You don't need a baby for that - my dog takes up just as much space already ;)

But we get more sleep with him wedged in between us than we do when he whines all night wanting to be let up on the bed - which he only does on nights when it's really cold; most of the time when he gets really annoying we kick him off the bed and sleeps on the couch.
