Sorting out trivial security for a little bulletin board, but the server just doesn't seem to link up my .htaccess to the passwords file (or finds the passwords file and doesn't like the passwords)... maybe because I cooked it up over here (BSD/Darwin), while it reads it over there (FreeBSD administered by a security freak)... fun with portability.

Anyhow, in a security-curious mood, I thought I'd post by e-mail with PGP and see if it works. And if anyone out there knows about beating .htaccess into shape without a shell account on the destination machine... a comment would be muchly appreciated!

update: fixed the sucker... relative paths don't do it for .htaccess
