Sorting out trivial security for a little bulletin board, but the server just doesn't seem to link up my .htaccess to the passwords file (or finds the passwords file and doesn't like the passwords)... maybe because I cooked it up over here (BSD/Darwin), while it reads it over there (FreeBSD administered by a security freak)... fun with portability.

Anyhow, in a security-curious mood, I thought I'd post by e-mail with PGP and see if it works. And if anyone out there knows about beating .htaccess into shape without a shell account on the destination machine... a comment would be muchly appreciated!

update: fixed the sucker... relative paths don't do it for .htaccess

i thought it was always a good idea to NOT use relative paths in any sort of web-serving/http(d)/etc... environment, due to possibly undiscovered exploits.

then again, if it doesn't work in the first place, i guess that works out. LOL.

also, any particular reason you're using PGP vs. GPG?

I see you've got [livejournal.com profile] jul3z listed as a mutual friend. I also happen to be listed as a mutual friend with her, so, i have friended you as well.

Anybody who can talk civilization tactics or .htaccess methods is good by me. :) Plus you live in Montréal, and i need more locals on my flist. :)

Haha, phear. It it settled then; let us celebrate our newfound arrangement by the adding of chocolate to milk.

I don't suppose you also like board games, such as Risk or Settlers? :)

Scrabble, eh? Superb. I, too, enjoy a good game of scrabble, but have far to few people to enjoy it with.

Perhaps, in the FUTURE (queue majestic chords), you might join us for one of our semi-regular boardgame nights. :)
