ten things and a little update

There's this know-your-friends'-eccentricities-better meme going around, where you list ten things you've done that your LJ friends are unlikely to have done too.
I have:
1) dislocated my shoulder more times than I care to count
2) spoken at the VSMM '04 conference on shape grammars while finishing up my B.A.
3) spent 3 1/2 years going to a pretty hardcore literalist church and come to my senses while taking a course in propaganda
4) eight years, eight physical addresses
5) eleven years, one continuously-running e-mail address
6) TA-ed a course I'd never taken (by the seat of my pants) in second year
7) crossed the Mercier bridge on a bicycle
8) been born a minute before midnight
9) pitched a tent by the side of the highway in the middle of the night (while lost)
10) had an accent generously added to my name by the folks in the Québec government bureaucracy
Other than that, I've had a nice past little while. Had a nice meal of spicy refried beans followed by Scrabble with
rottenfruit and
dzuunmod (with some suggestions that I drink more beer to reduce my word-placing chops), did some marking (any of my students that is reading this... you're doing just fine, it's just taking me a while) and some reporting to the profs, and got Fire 1.5.1 up and running on my machine, which I'm quite liking now that I've had a chance to work out some of its idiosyncracies. It's a multi-protocol IRC program for Mac that is configurable-to-death, GNU licensed and quite solid and responsive to boot. Looking forward to a quiet day with more marking, some studying and a homework date. Gotta love studenthood.
