Tom Baker played the Doctor (who is on his eighth actor) in Doctor Who (a long-running BBC sci-fi show with a cult following rivalling Star Trek) for a while... one of his sidekicks was K-9 the robotic dog. He wore a ridiculously overlong scarf. My cat is called Noisette... yeah, that is probably the most reference-packed sentence I've put in my LJ in a while.
