metawidget: Co-sleeping kid taking up as much space as possible between co-awake parents. (co-sleep)
Yesterday was Elizabeth's and my sixth wedding anniversary. Woo for crazy married adventures and making things up as we go along!

Vivien composed her first three-word sentence today: "Doggie likes juice!" She was dipping her toy dog in her juice at the time. Earlier this week, Oscar decided I was like a Christmas tree. Why? Because I go around and around. Like a Christmas tree. I'm not sure where that came from...

Also, there is an "I am still here" meme going around LJ. I'm still here!

If you want to set up a Dreamwidth account, here are some invite codes:

codes under the cut )

You can create an account with one of these on Dreamwidth's main page. I have more if these ones get used up!

ETA: I'll refresh the list periodically as codes get taken, so if it's been a day or so since the first one has been taken, there is probably a new first one.
metawidget: Oscar around one month, with Pixel. (oscar and pixel)

So, we found that Oscar was having a blast in a laundry basket in front of a mirror. Then I took some video footage (not thinking, I took it portrait-sideways, which is why the laptop is on its side). Then Oscar saw the video of him, and I had to take another video of him enjoying the video of himself in the mirror. I'm sure someone has thought of this before, but we were laughing.

And yes, he was similarly excited at this video too.

Here are some stills of Oscar and the mirror (without recursion):

After all that new media excitement, Oscar is now sleeping soundly beside me, for now…

Co-sleeping makes a lot of sense for everyone's sense of security, for ease of night-time feeding and changing, and all that, but there is sometimes the issue in the icon over there (LJ users: over here).

Thanks to Hyperbole and a Half for including that panel in Allie's lastest story, and for the cheerfully generous permissions Allie posts her stuff under.

I managed to get S2 to give me a back to top link on each entry. Yay, customization!

S2's rigidly-defined layers are a little annoying, but I'm glad it's reasonably hackable. I'm a little disappointed CSS2 has a content element on :before and :after that can't represent a link (text, image, bullet, counter, but not a link!), but it got me poking around S2, so something good came of the W3C's omission.
